Bedford County has two farmers markets that provide fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables and meats, and handmade goods directly from the farmers and producers.
Forest Farmers Market
The Forest Farmers Market is an open air producer only market. Local vendors offer a wide selection of produce, fruit, meats, coffee, and baked goods along with wine, jams, and plants. Artisans create beautiful wood crafts, jewelry, and glass art along with beauty products. The Forest Farmers Market accepts SNAP.
Located at the Forest Library, 15583 Forest Road.
The Outdoor Market will open for regular site sales on May 9 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with vendors limited to healthcare items and agriculture-based items. Artisans will be allowed to display and sell products once the Governor’s EO 55 expires in June. You can visit their website at www.ForestFarmersMarket.com for contact information for vendors.
The following guidelines have been set into place per VDACS and will remain in place until further notice:
- Use hand sanitizer or wash hands prior to entering market. Pure alcohol over 60% can be used as sanitizer.
- Send only one family member to the market.
- If you are sick or have a fever stay home.
- No pets allowed.
- Get in and get out process – no lingering.
- No handling of products.

Bedford Farmers Market
Featuring fresh fruits, veggies, jams, jellies, baked goods, meats and eggs, and local artisans. Located on Washington St., and Center St. Bedford, VA at the Bedford Centertown Pavilion. The Bedford Market also accepts SNAP. The Bedford Farmers Market is open on Fridays from May 1 – October 9, 2020, 8:00 a.m. – Noon.
